Dennis to ride to raise funds for Parkinson's Dance at Pavilion Dance South West

Dance Class brings together a fantastic group of people, who all have one aim in common – to overcome some of the impairing symptoms of Parkinson’s. 
Despite being new to cycling, Dennis Ross, one of the class participants, is taking on the challenge of participating in the Argus Cycle Tour, South Africa, to raise funds for Parkinson's Dance at Pavilion Dance South West.

8 PHYSICAL PERFORMERS REQUIRED
AUDITION TUESDAY 25TH FEBRUARY 2014




METRO-BOULOT-DODO has been commissioned to create a new large scale outdoor performance called SAFE HOUSE premiering at Brighton Festival, followed by performances at Norfolk & Norwich Festival, Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, Stockton International Riverside Festival and additional dates to be confirmed.

The show involves working on a large ground based structure, combining aerial performance and interactive project work.

METRO-BOULOT-DODO are an award winning company who are associate artists at CURVE in Leicester. MBD are known for their emotionally engaging narratives, haunting soundtracks and visual flair. MBD are collaborating with Wired Aerial Theatre on the Aerial design and Choreography for SAFE HOUSE.

Wired Aerial Theatre, internationally acclaimed aerial performance artists are part of the team responsible for the international success of 'AS THE WORLD TIPPED¶. Draw and Code are providing the animations and Safe House is being produced by Event International.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
METRO-BOULOT-DODO and Wired Aerial Theatre are looking for 8 outstanding performers with a range of skills to create, rehearse and tour SAFE HOUSE. This is an exciting opportunity to be the first cast of this show working with the artistic directors during the creation period. The performers will have training in physical performance and an interest in aerial theatre practice. Other desirable skills are contemporary dance, parkour, gymnastics, climbing and acting. We also welcome climbers/riggers who have an interest in performing.

All applicants should consider the following :

x    be capable/comfortable with working at heights of up to 20m
x    have a high level of physical fitness, be strong and athletic
x    experience of aerial wall work is preferred but not essential (specific training will be provided)
x    have some experience of technical work in the aerial industry (preferred but not essential - specific training will be provided)
x    be capable of learning choreographed movement (ground and aerial)
x    Be experienced in devising own movement and eager to work creatively under direction.
x    have great team skills and enjoy working closely with others
x    have good communication skills
x    MUST be available for all rehearsal and performance dates

Auditions are by invitation only and will be held on Tuesday 25th February 2014 :The Hangar, Unit 7a Mellish House, Harrington Way, London SE18 5NR from 10am until 8pm.
